Is It Hot Or What?

The last few days here have been stifiling! Now I know its summer and I do like heat (or thought I did!) but since boxing day it has been consistantly over 25C. It seems to have cooled down tonight and we are supposed to be getting rain tomorrow - in time for the One Day International Criket Game

I can't wait to get my assesment done so I can go swimming 2x per week with help. The assesment process is not fast and 2 months ago I was told it would take a month! I love being in water as I can walk! My nieces and nephews used to love it when they were younger "Its magic" they'd cry

I now have my own art on my wall. Some friends got it framed for me for Christmas and its very cool. (Its also my avatar on here) It is done using a technique called A R T and I'm going to add a link to the official american website. A friend of mine travelled to New York to learn how to be a "tracker" with a view to bringing it back to New Zealand. I got very enthused when I read Tim's book FLYING COLORS as I could see in the book that he really *got* disability and the lack of expectation that people often place on disabled people. Suffice to say he never made that mistake and the rest is history! Charitee got me one of Tim's copies! and now I just have to figure out who I lent it to. It is a FANTASTIC read.

Got the iPhone up and running with 64 songs on it already, I won't wax lyrical about it anymore but in closing the subject will just say I LOVE IT

Its obviously not good me being up in the middle of the night as I discovered ways to enhance my blog and maybe get more readers - well I guess that remains to be seen!

What to do when one can't sleep!

And its now 2009 and the start of day 2 already

Feeling a little frustrated as I finally bought an iPhone on New Year's Eve - what a mission that turned out to be but yep *Finally* got the phone and yesterday (Jan 1) I decided to delete my songs on my iRiver so I can sell it on TradeMe well that turned out easier then I thought BUT I also decided to delete Skype while I was at it and the webcam thing as I never use them, and somewhere in the middle of all that I lost all sound to my computer! I didn't think I went anywhere near a sound card but there you go!

So that puts all my plans for updated iTunes on hold, listening to music on iPhone/iPod and downloading cool songs and ringtones GRRR. Not only that but now that I have deleted everything off the iRiver I have no music to listen too when out walking *GASP*

On the good side of things though the iPhone is awesome. I already have appointments in the calendar and made notes/lists, lets hope I can get it running to its full potential soon - I haven't used my computer guy for a while so fingers crossed that he is still in that line of work...

Oh and I loved PRETTY WOMAN last night too.

And it lasted I see....

NOT!

My first post was in September and so much for keeping it up....Oh well 2009 is a new year and so I may as well end this one as I mean to go on

Interesting times as my hours at work were slashed to 2 days a week from January. I was offered 2.5 days but turned it down due to being financially disadvantaged by working more hours. (Go figure) I was worse off working 19hrs then I will be working 14 and on the dreaded IB!

The last few months have been a challenge to say the least and I initially was adamant that I didn't want to continue working at this place that has decimated my self confidence. However it seems money talks, and after 2 job applications and a recession that looks to continue, much to my dislike it seems I am better to hang in with the status quo.

It is my goal to be back in full time employment before the year end (2009) and other work options are afoot, so the next month off work should see me rested to tackle what lies ahead. I have never had a month off before (well since 93) and have never felt I needed that long a break - but trust me now is the time I do.

On a more positive note Enable granted me funding for a car *gasp* totally unexpected and bloody scary but nevertheless a Red Mazda Demio is all but mine. Enable must love me at the moment as tomorrow sees the trial of a new manual wheelchair as well! NEVER turn down what they offer it don't happen often.

The next big decision - whether to buy an iPhone - even at $700 I am losing the battle with myself to resist buying it. I don't think I'll ever be in a position to pay outright for it again, and it would be good
